Parent Visits
At BIS School, we value the partnership between parents and teachers and encourage open communication. Parents can call the Parents’ Care Department to schedule an appointment with their child’s teacher, Head of Department or the social workers to discuss any concerns they may have.
If an urgent meeting with a teacher is necessary, it will be scheduled at a time that is convenient within the teacher’s session schedule.
Please note that interruptions during classroom sessions are not permitted to maintain a focused learning environment.
During parent visits, students will not be excused from their classes to leave with their parents and are expected to remain at school until the end of the school day. This policy ensures that students can benefit fully from their educational experience without unnecessary disruption
Parents-teachers conference
At BIS, Parents-Teachers Conferences is held before the end of each term to foster communication and collaboration between parents and teachers. These conferences provide a good opportunity for parents to meet with teachers, discuss their child’s progress, and gain insights into their academic performance, social development and overall well-being.

School Days and Hours
The academic year at BIS typically runs from early September to late June and is divided into three semesters. Each semester concludes with a one- or two-week break. Throughout each semester, students engage in ongoing assessment, including regular quizzes and a comprehensive set of term examinations. Following each semester, a detailed progress report is issued to provide valuable feedback on student learning.
The school week at BIS runs from Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday designated as weekends. The daily schedule is carefully designed to meet the learning needs of students at each stage of their development. For most students, the school day consists of five 45-minute periods and three 40-minute periods.
All students participate in a morning assembly that lasts 15 minutes before classes start. Attendance at the morning assembly is compulsory for both students and teachers, promoting a sense of community and school spirit

Morning Arrival
Students are required to arrive at school by 7:30 AM, with the gates opening to receive students at 7:15 AM. Please note that there is no staff supervision before this time, so students should not arrive earlier than 7:15 AM.
Dismissal
Parents are requested to arrive at the dismissal gate no earlier than 2:40 PM, as all students are expected to leave the school campus by 3:00 PM. Students who are not picked up between 2:40 PM and 3:00 PM will be taken to the care area. If a parent is late beyond this time, the student will wait with the security officer.
Early Dismissal
In case of an early dismissal request, parents need to inform the school a day ahead to ensure that the student is released at a suitable time. Parents need to sign an Early Student Dismissal Form at the school front office In case the parent assigns a driver to drop off or pick up the student, it must be made sure that the driver has the student’s ID. Parents must fill in the Driver Form, sign it and attach a copy of the driver’s ID along with it
Daily Attendance and Absence
Regular attendance is very important for the successful completion of the academic year, and students are expected to be punctual and present every day. Attendance is checked daily during the second session, and parents cannot excuse their children from quizzes, tests, or assignment deadlines.
Excused absences are permitted only for medical reasons or family emergencies. Parents are required to contact the school by 9:00 AM on any day a student is absent.
For absences extending beyond one day, a written note from a parent is required to justify the reason for the absence. If the absence is due to medical reasons, parents must also provide a medical report to validate the sick leave, along with the notification of the absence as previously mentioned.
